Deep Space Drive-In's experience with creative technology spans across many projects and partnerships. As a core component of immersive experiences, DSDI offers a wide range of interactive capability using microcontrollers, cameras, microphones, and more.

The creative technology industry continues to expand at a steady pace, evolving new tools, platforms, and possibilites every day. At DSDI, our missiono is to stay at the forefront of this growth - exploring, understandinig, and sharing knowledge about emering standards in software/equipment to better inform and empower our community.

SCFD Awards

Private Event

Adams County x SCFD x DSDI

A full 360 degree projection experience created for SCFD yearly Awards at the Waymire Dome in Adams County, CO.

This installation featured four projectors stitched for seamless coverage accompanied by custom audio reactive generative visuals mapped to Denver Women's Choir vocals and programmed using TouchDesigner.

Art Festival

Jahnna Rae x DSDI

As featured artists, DSDI brought creative technology to DenverWalls festival by projection mapping a beautiful mural by Jahna Rae.

This pop-up delivered an interactive experience featuring a joystick programmed in TouchDesigner to change components such as color, visual effects, and move elements within the mapped textures on this mural.

False Ego x DSDI

A concert series inside local business, False Ego, featuring local musicians in a "Tiny Desk" . This show included sonic interactivity with custom animations and generative visuals.

The interactive backgrounds were created using audio signal into TouchDesigner and Resolume Arena with a custom responsive logo animation for the business developed in Procreate.

Circus Foundry x DSDI

A combination of an interactive escape room and immersive circus performance that takes the audience on a journey through time. Visitors challenge themselves with different creative technology puzzles with guidance from circus performers

This experience included interactive elements developed in TouchDesigner

including a keycard enabled security box to reveal secrets, an interactive word search featuring a Leap motion sensor, and proximity sensing obstacles.

Performance

Boulder Ballet x DSDI

A technology heavy collaboration in which ballet dancers had multiple interactive technological components.

DSDI provided figure tracking using Microsoft Kinect and used serial data from accelerometers on performers to manipulate generative visuals with gravitational effects.

Developed in TouchDesigner and mixed in Resolume Arena

The Acoma Street Project

Public Event/Group Exhibition

Acoma Street Project was a COVID safe interactive art exhibit and concert series run by IRL Art that took place during the pandemic.

Services provided included projection mapping, audio interactivity, and generative visual content developed in TouchDesigner & Resolume Arena.

Interactive Table Top

Proof of Concept

A tabletop experiential design featuring real time manipulation of particle fields using camera sensors to track motion data. Can also include other forms of interactivity and visual mixing to accompany the original design for different desired looks.

This project was designed using a standard webcam versus a Microsoft Kinect in TouchDesigner and can be used for pop-up or permanent installation projects.
